Alabama Public Radio (APR) is looking for a new team member to grow our membership. APR is part of the College of Communication and Information Sciences at The University of Alabama. Housed in a state-of-the-art facility, APR has as part of its mission to engage with students and help create the next generation of journalists. The award winning APR news team includes student journalists. APR enjoys a supportive environment as part of the educational curriculum at The University of Alabama. Essential Duties / Responsibilities
As part of this team, you will be responsible for generating a significant part of the programming budget through direct mail, email, on-line, and on-air fundraising focused on the listeners of APR. APR’s signal reaches more than 75% of the State of Alabama, from the Shoals to the shore. According to recent analysis, we are in a great position to grow the support of our members.
Skills / Qualifications
Specifically, we are looking for someone • Comfortable with Customer Relation Management (CRM) software (we use a public media platform called Allegiance.) • With critical thinking skills who can evaluate the current state of our membership program and make recommendations on how to grow the program • Familiarity with email marketing tools such as Constant Contact • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • A team player who can work independently while focused on the goals of the team
