Excellence in Journalism is the annual RTDNA & SPJ conference - affordable, actionable, accessible training for newsroom leaders and future journalists. In September 2019, NAHJ joins the action in San Antonio. Journalism students are invited to apply now for the RTDNA Student Newsroom.

Get FREE registration for EIJ19 plus travel stipend and professional experience covering the conference.

Excellence in Journalism 2019 will host over 1,000 journalists for 3 days of hands-on training September 5-7 in San Antonio, Texas. In exchange for helping us cover the event, you'll get backstage access to major events, sit in on training sessions, meet industry VIPs, professional journalists and fellow student journalists, and enjoy San Antonio.

Reporter duties include:
- Write articles; take still photos; gather video interviews of award recipients, presenters, attendees and VIPs
- Post material to the RTDNA website, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and other social media pages
- Use your own equipment to gather and post material; video/still cameras, smartphones, laptops, etc.

Reporters receive:
- A free registration to the conference
- The ability to keep any material you create, to use for your resume reels and/or links back to the RTDNA website
- The chance to meet some big names in journalism and take advantage of special training and networking opportunities

RTDNA will provide up to 10 student reporters with a complementary conference registration.
Please note: Newsroom reporters are responsible for their own meals and travel costs beyond stipend.

RTDNA covers registration costs and, thanks to a generous grant from the TEGNA Foundation, a travel stipend is provided as well.

Applications are due May 31.
