Introducing Leaders of Tomorrow: RTDNA’s Young Professional Retreat
This summer, RTDNA will welcome 18 early career journalists to the inaugural Leaders of Tomorrow young professional retreat, to be held Aug. 1-3 in Flat Rock, N.C., near Asheville.
This mountain retreat will bring together talented journalists, teach and train them to develop and grow leadership skills and challenge them to think critically about the future of the profession and how they can help move it forward.
Leaders of Tomorrow is designed to be an immersive, and shared, experience. From the moment the young professionals walk in until the moment they leave, the group will dine together, discover together, work together and learn together. When they leave, they will have a better understanding of how they can leave a mark on the journalism world — and a new team of peers who will help them for the rest of their careers.
This is a small, selective experience, and interested early career journalists (years 1-5) must apply for consideration. Applications are due Tuesday, May 31, and acceptance notifications will be sent by Wednesday, June 15. Tuition, lodging and meals are included in the cost of the program.
Are there young journalists in your newsroom who are destined to be (or already are) leaders? Encourage them to apply!
