Professional Bio
Richard Mason is a multimedia journalist from Miami, Florida, passionate about enterprise, feature and investigative news. He is also a two-time award-winning recipient of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Suncoast Chapter annual grant for investigative reporting on two self-produced multimedia stories. One titled “In My Water” was about how the COVID-19 pandemic affected water management in Miami-Dade County. The second story, “COVID-19 Hair Loss,” explained how COVID-19 long haulers who survived the virus were losing their hair.
Richard graduated with high distinction, magna cum laude, from the University of Florida in communications, specializing in broadcast journalism. He currently works for Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) affiliate television station WVLT-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee.
